Re-Open Beach Road on Siesta Key

You may have heard about Beach Road on Siesta Key.  After years of shifting sands, the road has been partially covered and Sarasota County has banned access to this previously public street alongside the beach.

Take an aerial look at the affected area, and sign the petition to re-open Beach Road.

New Sarasota County Flood Maps

Sarasota County has come out with new flood zone maps that have everyone talking. Take a look at how the new preliminary flood zones affect the South Venice area: South Venice FL flood map The darker green shows the existing FEMA AE zone, and the lighter green shade shows the preliminary changes to the 2016 AE flood zone.
